One to one lesson details
One to one lessons are the key to growing as a musician. During the lesson, your teacher will show you on how to get the best out of your instrument, teach you good technique and help you play wonderfully.
The lessons will take place at the house of your teacher. For younger children, parents are welcome to stay and listen, whereas teens will usually come on their own. Typically a lesson lasts for half an hour and will involve going over pieces you already know, learning new techniques and starting new works. Naturally the ground covered will be appropriate for the grade that you are working toward.
Excellent as the lessons are, you will need to practise at home, so you can really take in what you have been taught. We will give you scales and music to practise at home. This can be a grind at first, but it really does reap great rewards, so stick with it!
Just playing on your own can be lonely, so we do encourage all our musicians to join one of the chamber groups. These are great fun, and you will get to play in public at concerts and other events
Parents: all our teachers have a current CRB, and are committed to the welfare of the children they teach.
