Youth Music and Exeter City Council grants Friday, February 15, 2008

I am absolutely delighted to report that we have been awarded two significant grants.

The main grant for Youth Music for just over £8,500 will enable Jackie and I to bring music lessons to around 60 children in two of Exeter’s most disadvantaged areas. These are children who really would not have this opportunity without us.

The second grant is from Exeter City Council to by 6 of the smallest sized violins and 6 small cellos. These instruments will be played on by children in Whipton Barton First School and Willowbrook school. Both schools are taking part in our project funded by Youth Music.

I would really love this inclusion project to extend into our main organisation. I am sure there are many other local Exeter children living in other parts of Exeter of whom instrumental lessons are out of reach.
